She has passed through many things.
She has passed through infinite struggles.
She wasn’t allowed to choose. Many people wanted her.
She was pulled and pushed, and her freedom was taken away.
What she had was stripped off like she was not worth owning anything.
Her beliefs triumphed, and her peace was disturbed.
She cried and bled, but no one was interested in her tears.
The beauty of the woman was graceful, and she had her own systems which were working, but she was considered inferior.
Her children were taken away because they were too strong to work.
Her children were forced to fight for their masters and the blood they shed.
She has been made to beg for aid from the people who took her wealth.
Mother Africa, your children don’t have vengeance, but they will rise.
Many have tried to unite your children, but to no avail.
Some almost got close, but let’s not talk about their names remaining.
Your children’s eyes are still closed since they were separated and segregated by their master.
A house divided against itself cannot stand. Your children are divided ranging from groups, tribes, clans, communities, and even families.
When your children come together and realize the strength in unity, then they shall rise.
They shall rise like the eagles flying high over your tall mountains.
Some leaders segregate your children and promote divisiveness so as to gain for themselves power and wealth.
Mother Africa, hope your children will live up to their potential.
Let them follow their forefathers and also your mother.
Let them learn from your strength in suffering, your resolve to never give up, your hope for a better future, and your pride in celebrating the differences.
Let them discover their full potential.
Let them leave a better future for their children’s children so that they can be proud of their motherland.
Signed
A son of the forefathers.
