She wasn’t used to it. She couldn’t believe all that she had hoped for could come true. Finally, her days of turning blue had ended.
She almost shed tears. She remembered where she had come from. She remembered how many men lied to her, how many men pretended to care, how many men pretended to be one of the good guys, how many men betrayed her trust, how many men pretended to be a plus.
All they did was subtract. They subtracted her love, removed her trust, and castigated her innocent heart when she at first was naive to believe everyone could love.
She was beautiful. A breath of fresh air. The type of lady who could turn heads and turning heads she did. The bad thing was that she attracted the wrong guys who broke her heart. One after the other they did but she chose to hold her ground. She chose to still believe in love. She chose to still be the humble girl she once was. She believed against all odds that at one time, she would not cry again. At one time she would be able to afford a smile again.
Currently, in a relationship that she always dreamt of, a lot has changed about her. She glowed, her skin tone improved, her appetite improved and she no longer had to do squats to achieve the look she wanted.
Love can change a person. She was at peace. The frequent headaches that she usually had stopped. Was that how it felt to love and be loved? She was glad she had never lost hope. For she was now happy, contented, and in a stable relationship.
She had eyes and she saw. Her hubby didn’t need to be pushed to prove his loyalty. He loved her to the moon and back. As she thought about it, she giggled. She couldn’t believe her luck. She hoped but did not expect to see the light that soon while she was still in the dark.
He understood her. He understood her journey. He was aware of the many men who broke her heart. He didn’t want to be among them. Never! He dreaded a day he would not be able to see her. That thought shook him to the roots of his existence.
Everything happens for a reason even if you don’t understand it at first. They couldn’t have ended up together if with the others they had fallen in love.
Patience is a virtue and so is honesty. They were in one accord, in one spirit. For as long as they lived, to make each other happy was their goal.
She couldn’t believe that love could feel this good. She wished for other women to still believe. She wished them to have hope that everything would work out in the end.
